I
attempt to convey the bodies ability to transform itself or respond
to outside stimulus, or its ability to outwardly express inner emotions.
In the process I try to work intuitively and make my images express
the same communicative power as a piece of dance, or mime, or an act
of movement performance, but distilled to its essence in one brief
moment - its power and immediacy expressed instantly on the page.
I¹m
heavily influenced by the power of light play on the body and its
ability to communicate through gesture and pose. I try to be direct
in my interpretations of the bodies many intimate landscapes and am
very drawn to exploring themes of ambiguity, and our collective sense
of self in an uncertain world, and just what it is to be human.
