Sebastian
Unterreitmeier, born in Thuringia in 1976, started up at the age of
16 by working in a friend’s photo shop. There he discovered
the magic of photography and began to take photos himself. After a
couple of years of studying, testing and taking all kinds of analogue
photos, he started with what he still prefers doing today: portraits.
Sebastian
uses mostly middleformat films. He likes the limitation on just a
couple of pictures per film. It helps him to concentrate on the scenery:
The search for the (im)perfect moment has begun.
Sebastian
never takes flash photos. “Natural light interacts not only
with the film, but also with the people on the film: The best reason
not to mess around with it.”
